Understanding that there are times one must lead and times when one must be led. Being thoughtful when it is time to lead and when it’s time to be led; embrace the responsibility of both.

Encouraging the strive for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in their personal activities. A rising tide lifts all ships. They must understand their responsibility to raise the tide.

From their hearts, to their minds, to the field, and beyond. Their effort is unbridled.
Being an athlete on a team provides a lifetime experience. The skills one learns will make them successful in life. Together, we have a responsibility to our athletes in providing the culture that promotes the said values.
Hawthorne Soccer Association Board Members
Frank A. Buttacavoli
President of the HSA since 2020 and has been a member of the board since 2013. Frank’s main responsibility is to work with the other board members/committees in delivering a special and memorable soccer experience to the Hawthorne Soccer Families and the Hawthorne Community. Frank has been a coach for the HSA for 16+ years and has a passion for coaching youth players; motivating them to strive for excellence on and off the field, instilling self accountability with zero excuses for mediocrity and a champion mindset.
Kevin Noonan
Vice President of the HSA since 2020 and has been a member of the board since 2015. Kevin’s main responsibility is to provide support to the other board members as it relates to their responsibilities to the association. Additionally, Kevin chair’s the Field Maintenance and Equipment Committee and Co-Chairs the Scholarship Committee within the HSA. Kevin has been a coach for the HSA for 16+ years and enjoys instructing youth players; encouraging them to be the best they can be.
Beth Solloway
Technology Director for the HSA and has been a member of the board since 2018. Beth’s main responsibility is to support and integrate technology into our programs for effectiveness and efficiency.
Beth has been an HSA coach for 10+ years and got involved with coaching in 2013 as a way to support her kids' interests and to give back to others.
Beth Kurdock
Recording Secretary for the HSA and has been a member of the board since 2019. Beth is responsible for all of the meeting minutes and the incoming and outgoing correspondence. Additionally, Beth chairs our Event Planning Committee within the HSA focusing on bringing the community together and giving back to the community. Beth has been an HSA coach for 8+ years providing a fun experience to all those that she coaches.
Michael Hahn
Treasurer and Referee Coordinator for the HSA and has been a
member of the board since 2019. Mike’s responsibilities are twofold; as the HSA Treasurer, he is responsible for all of the finances of the association, and as the HSA Referee Coordinator, he is responsible for the recruitment, training, and scheduling of all Hawthorne Referees. Mike has been an HSA coach for 11+ years.
Michael Alberta
A Trustee for the HSA and has been a member of the board since 2019. Mike is a member of the Field Maintenance and Equipment Committee within the HAS, chairs the Sponsorship Committee and Co-Chairs the Scholarship Committee. Mike has been an HSA coach for 6+ years and brings a passionate and nurturing mindset to his coaching style.
Lloyd Bowden
Trustee for the HSA and has been a member of the board since 2022. Lloyd is a member of the Field Maintenance and Equipment Committee within the HSA. Lloyd has been an HSA coach for 7+ years and brings live intensity to his coaching.
Kristen Ahne
A Trustee for the HSA and has been a member of the board since 2022. Kristen is also a member of the Event Planning Committee within the HSA board. On top of that Kristen has been an HSA coach for 7+ years and brings a positive mindset to her coaching style.
